Nick Humez

Nick Humez has spent the last 45 years successfully juggling simultaneous careers in the visual arts, publishing, teaching, and music. Born in 1948, he has had studios in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in Portland, Maine (where he also covered the classical music beat for the Maine Sunday Telegram and was a co-founder of the Maine Composers’ Forum), in Maplewood, New Jersey (while also teaching mythology in the classics department at Montclair State University) and since 2006 in Painesville, Ohio. He is the author or co-author of eight books including Silversmithing: a Basic Manual (Little, Brown: 1976) and On the Dot: The Speck That Changed the World (Oxford University Press: 2008), as well as the composer and principal vocalist on the CD Myth Songs.
